MLB Playoff Preview
So I realized that doing a Fantasy Baseball Review would be really hard, because trades never happen in our league and there are just too many fucking adds and drops to choose the best. I will, however, refer you to my Preview. Easily my most embarassing moment would be labeling Kei Igawa as Archie's best pick, however I am pretty happy with how my predictions turned out. Also, let it be duly noted that I will not have to eat a diarrhea popsicle, as Alex, Clay and Harrison all finished at the bottom of the heap (regular and postseason). My hats off to the Bubster, your team was dominant all season long... but I'm just too good at this shit (or too much of a dork, however you want to put it), and my team absolutely diarrhead over everyone in the second half. I am already planning for my reinstatement as commissioner.
Now on to the good stuff. The guys from Nashville next door and I filled out playoff brackets last night. One kid picked the Padres to get to the Series, so he's fucked (we gave him a redo). I figure we could do the same.
NLDS
Phillies over Rockies in 5
Hitting galore. This series is going to be really fun to watch, as the two hottest teams in baseball square off. I just like the Phillies firepower more, and I like the veterans in the bullpen (c'mon Flash!).
Cubs over D-Backs in 4
I don't get Arizona, nor do I think I ever will. They won too many close games this season; the law of averages always plays out. I like Marmol as the typical young gun coming out of the pen in the playoffs (ala Bobby Jenks, K-Rod, etc.)
ALDS
Sox over Angels in 3
Yes, I'm predicting a sweep, not very confident about it though. I don't like Vlad and Mathews Jr. hurt, and the Sox have alot of big game experience. They're pissed the Yankees almost pulled a fast one...Manny is the key.
Indians over Yankees in 5
C.C. and Carmona win games 1 and 2 at home, backed up by a real solid bullpen. The Yankees pitching does them in. Plus, Jeter sucks a fatty. Also, I'm going to be rooting for A-Rod in this one. He's an incredible ballplayer, and I really don't want to have to listen to Skip Gaymore(hahahaha I'm hilarious) rip on him for the next...year.
NLCS
Phillies over Cubs in 7
Don't really like this pick, as I think the Cubs can hit with anyone, but the guy next door is a Chicago fan. The NL Central has gotten too lucky over the past few years. Utley goes nuts.
ALCS
Sox over Indians in 6
Too much balance and maturity from the Sox gives them the edge. Papi starts to heat up, and whoever ends up winning the NLCS starts wetting their britches.
World Series
Sox over Phillies in 5
I think any AL team should be able to sweep the NL opponent. However, I think the NL bracket is going to be extremely competitive, because all of these teams have key flaws. The Phillies will have matured a bit by clawing their way to the Series, but they learn that outslugging the Sox in October is no easy feat.
As I said to Clay, I'm glad MLB postseason is starting. I need something to keep my mind off the fucking Niners.
Peace.

i hate all of the teams in the AL except for the indians. WS champs jesus.
Rockies over phillies in 4. And I'm not just saying this because they already won today. This one is too easy for me. Phillies playoff rotation: hamels, moyer, kendrick, then Johnny Wholestaff. Pitching wins championships. Rockies don't have great pitching but they have four established starters compared to the one on the phillies.
Cubs over Diamondbacks. To easy again, Cubs are very good, Soriano's been on fire and Hill, Zambrano, Lily are the best pitching in the playoffs. Probably. Maybe. Still they'll beat the Diamondbacks who predicted record according to their stats is around the Giants Record, so they've been overachieving all year. That'll end too.
Red Sox over Angels. I actually like this matchup a lot. The Red Sox are to me the best overall team in Baseball. They just don't the momentum so i can see them possibly getting beat here. The Angels can be dangerous. Still, the Red Sox will win it because home field advantage and a slight edge in pitching. Just for the record, if the Red Sox still had Clay Buchholz pitching then I would pick them to win it all. No doubt about it.
Yankees over Indians in five. Whoever wins this series wins the World Series. My personal opinion. Yankees have the momentum so they take the series even if their pitching isn't great. And they have the veterans who know how to win. Still its just a matter of time before the Indians win a world series. And I actually wouldn't be surprised if this was the year.
Cubs over Rockies in 5. Cubs are just too good.
Yankees over Red Sox in 6. The yankees were the better second half team.
Yankees over Cubs in 6. How much is this gonna piss off baseball fans everywhere if this happens? Yanks are gonna beat both the cubs and red sox on their way to regaining the standing they had in the 90s. I hate the yankees but even if they don't have amazing pitching. The combination of veterans and absurd hitting up and down their lineup. I mean Cano hits 8th. And he hits .306. I'd be pissed off if I was a pitcher facing them.
Pitching wins championships. So the Yankees with the Murderers Row lineup wins it all?
Also the Rockies have "four established starters"? Explanation, please?
Love you RJ!!!!
My bracket is probably shot already. Phillies looked flat today.
Murders row + Petitte, Clemens, Wang, and Mussina (and hughes if need be) = Championship.
And in terms of Colorado. I count Morales as the 4th even if he's a rookie. He's legit. Okay so maybe established isn't the right word but good. How about that? Four pretty good pitchers. and Phillies look like shit
