Barry! Barry! Barry! ZITO!!!

FUCK YEAH. Finally the Giants do something right. And boy oh boy did they do something. The best FA available, and 2nd best of the crop behind Soriano IMHO, is coming to pitch in a Giants uniform in 2007. And, as Leann Tweeden says, B-Zit is gonna look HOT (think Ish from Pimp My Ride) in the orange and black.
I really couldn't believe it this morning when Jesse woke me up hella early yelling into the phone that we got Zito.
OK, honestly, the money is a little ridiculous, but its a sign of the times. Yes, I ripped the Gil Meche and Ted Lilly signings, but at least we're getting talent, and at least he's only 28 years old. Some analysts say he's merely replacing Schmidt, but I think Zito will have much better numbers than Gayson. I would believe him to be a 20-win shoe-in if it weren't for our weak ass lineup. However, all the other lineups in the NL, especially the West, are so goddam awful you never know....The effect he has on the young guns, Cain and Lowry especially, will be extremely important. Blanton, Haren, and the Duke, among others, were all young guys who seemed to flourish under Zito's "veteran" guidance. If Cain stops walking people and continues his success from the 2nd half last year and Lowry gets some consistency behind his changeup (when its on, he's lethal), a front four of Zito/Cain/Lowry/Morris will look VERY strong.

If we get a little lucky, this team might just limp into the playoffs. Then, who knows what can happen?

I snatch it out the air...

For the end of the season super-post I am about to do instead of college applications I have the best quote of the year. Antonio Bryant straight up talking like a deep south 1860's man. Before we go into the picks I am going to do a quick awards thing.
MVP: LT. I mean come in he set hella records and he's so classy doing it. Runner-Ups: Drew Brees and Frank Gore.
Offensive Player of the Year: LT. See above.
Defensive Player of the Year: Jason Taylor. He single handedly won the Dolphins a number of games with his outstanding play, including beating the then-undefeated Bears. Runners up: Champ Bailey, Brian Urlacher
Offensive ROY: A lot of good choices but in my book its gotta be Vince Young. He simply won games that not many other guys in the league would have won in his position. He's been absolutely incredible, and i'll go so far to say one of the best 5 quarterbacks in the last month or so. Runners Up: Marques Colston, Reggie Bush, Maurice Jones-Drew, Reggie McNeill
Defensive ROY: I would give this to Devin Hester, but really he's a special teams guy so its gotta be Demeco Ryans. An absolute beast at LB leading the league (I believe) in solo tackles.
Comeback: This is what Drew Brees gets. An amazing recovery from shoulder surgery.
Surprise of the season: For me the biggest surprise has been the lights-out play of Vince Young. I never thought he would get the chance to play this year, and if he did I thought he would be mediocre. This surprise could actually include all rookie qb's in general because I have been surprised by the play of Matt Leinart and Jay Cutler as well.
Bust of the Year: I hate doing this to myself but I gotta say the New York Giants. Here was a team that was thinking Super Bowl before the year started and now they don't deserve (and in a way I don't want them) to make the playoffs. That way Coughlin will be fired and we will sign Charlie Weis, who's name has started to come up hella much.
Alright back to the picks. Last week I went 6-10 to bring me to 30-34 with one real week left in the year, so now its time to get hot and get over 500. Yea! Against the spread I went 7-9 bringing me to 28-36. Bad. Next year when I can actually bet i'll do better. I promise. Well let's get to the picks. They might be a little funny in some areas especially with teams having already clinched. Onwards!!!

Saturday 5:00 PM
Giants at Redskins
I need to vent a little on the Giants. Never before has a Giants team been this talented in my lifetime. Also, never before has a Giants team been this embaressing. Straight up. Every fucking day I turn on Sportscenter and its Giants bullshit after Giants bullshit. Coughlin was brought in to get rid of bullshit and was supposed to discipline the team. Instead, last week we had three intentional roughness penalties, two by the same guy for headbutting (which he has already got flagged for earlier in the year) and bullshit all the time. Eli has regressed big time. 9-25. I mean come on. And injuries were supposed to be a mental thing Coughlin was going to get rid. Instead, we might back in as a wild card and will probably get smoked in the playoffs. Cool. Let's start saving money to bring in Charlie Weis. From all the bullshit New York Press I have read he really wants to come to NY and the Giants are willing to buyout his contract. Onto this week game. The giants are playing for a wild cart spot essentially and the Skins have nothing to play for so the Giants should win this game. But I don't think they will. Tiki should get 30 carries this game as he has nothing left to play for after this. But he'll probably rush some 15-18 times. Keep in mind i got the Reggie Bush stuff right last week. I know the Giants, they'll be stupid this game.
Prediction: Redskins, Skins +3

Sunday 10:00 AM
Carolina at New Orleans
Two teams with something to prove. With a win, the Panthers may make the playoffs if the Giants and Packers both lose, something very possible. The Panthers are coming off a win against the Falcons last week and should be feeling good about themselves. Meanwhile, the Saints have clinched everything they can, and have a first round bye. The Saints shouldn't play Drew Brees in my opinion, and limit the touches of Deuce, Marques, and Reggie. I think that John Fox will have the Panthers ready to play and will have his boys fired up.
Prediction: Panthers, Panthers (no line as of yet)

Cleveland at Houston
The only really barfy matchup of this week and let's be honest, its really fucking barfy. The Browns got beaten at home by the Bucs last week, while the Texans beat a reeling Colts team. I like the Texans in this game, and I think that they are on their way to being a decent team. David Carr is not a bad QB, Andre Johnson is a good receiver, and they are young. All they need is a decent RB and they could be a surprise next year. Unfortunately for them they play in what could be the toughest division: Colts, Titans, and Jags.
Prediction: Texans, -4

Detroit at Dallas
Would be a pretty boring game if it wasn't for the cowboys freak out this week. I mean they should take a deep breath. They haven't been that bad. Calm the fuck down. TO i don't like you. Terry Glenn on the other hand I like and have some respect for but he needs to calm down as well. This is a team in my mind built for the playoffs. They have two guys who can run the ball, a mean defense, and one of the best coaches in history. The Lions on the other hand are something really sorry. When your fans are having walk-outs out of the stadium something is really wrong. They have to fire Mike Millen and continue to rebuild. They have some talent at some positions and in my book could do some damage next year with some good coaching and a better game manager at QB.
Prediction: Dallas, Dallas -13 (big fucking spread)

Jacksonville at Kansas City
This is the silly matchup this week. Jacksonville makes the playoff if they win and the Jets, Titans, and Bengals all lose, so eh. Kansas City makes the playoff with a win and a Cincy, Titan, and Bronco loss so eh as well. As a team, I'm a big Jags fans, but their inconsistency has hurt them all year. I mean if they had beat the Pats they would be in great shape, but they play an eh game. KC is just unlucky cause their in the AFC. In the NFC they would be a playoff team without any doubt. I like KC at home in December, you know Arrowhead is gonna be loud and crazy. I can't see Garrard winning their, but with their inconsistency i wouldn't be surprised if they came in and won by 2 touchdowns.
Prediction: KC, no line so KC

New England at Tennesse
A really interesting game. I hope its televised. NE has won the East and will play at home in the playoffs. Watch out for NE in the playoffs. They were my Super Bowl pick and I am sticking with them. Tennessee on the other hand has Vince Young. Enough said. He wins game, and I believe I have picked everysingle one of his games wrong. Not this week. Here I got the Titans. Titans clinch with a win, Cincy loss, Denver loss and KC win. Not likely but reasonable. I don't know if by my picks they will make it. At the end of the article I will do my playoff teams.
Prediction: Titans, VY -3

Oakland at the NY Jets
If this was any other team but the Raiders I would pick them. But since its the Raiders, I pick the Jets hesitantly. Last week I thought they would get upset by the Fins and was wrong, and this week I still have a bad feeling about them. But the raiders are so bad that they have to win right? Right? I am almost sure that one of the two teams in control of their destiny will lose. Will the Jets win? Yes they win. But they do not cover, and they scare their fans for a little while.
Prediction: Jets, Raiders +13

Pittsburgh at Cincinnati
Last year, this was the big rivalry in the NFL. This year not so much. The Bengals have lost two straight, and I love the Steelers playing the role of spoiler. I thought they would win last week, but picked B-More correctly. I have done well with the Steelers. I think my luck will continue this week. The Bengals make the playoffs with a win and jets loss (not happening) or a win and Denver loss and KC win (not happening cause their gonna lose).
Prediction: Pittsburgh, Steelers +6

Seattle at Tampa Bay
The most pathetic playoff team in my book is the Seahawks. They have lost 3 straight. If they lose this week they should not be allowed to in the playoffs. They should just be kicked out. That being said, I wouldn't want to play in Seattle in the playoffs. Too bad the Niners or Rams could not pull it out. TB beat the Browns last week. Yay! They are also starting Tim Rattay at QB. I pick Seattle reluctantly. I also want to make it clear that I cannot stand Matt Hasselback. O-Ver-Rated.
Prediction: Seattle, +3 1/2 (how are they underdogs)

St. Louis at Minnesota
The Rams make the playoffs if they win and the Giants, Panthers, and Falcons all lose. They will get two out of 4, as I expect them to lose and as said before the Panthers will win. I have nothing to really say about this game. The Vikes have great run D and Defensively they are solid, which is why I am picking them. I also think Brad Childress has done a decent job coaching them. I like Tavaris to bust out with a money game this week too as he cements the starting QB job for next year.
Prediction: Vikes, Vikes +3

Sunday 4:15
Arizona at San Diego
A confusing little matchup. SD has nothing to play for. I picked incorrectly against them for that reason two weeks in a row. Arizona beat the Niners and have shown they might be a decent team. This week I like the Bolts. They are just hot right now. That doesn't mean that Marty won't blow a game like I said last week, it just means he's gonna do it in the playoffs.
Prediction: Bolts, Cards +13 1/2

Atlanta at Philly
Philly wins the NFC East with a win, whole the Falc's make the playoffs with a win and the panthers, packers, and giants all losing. Too bad I don't see them winning. If Jeff Garcia had come in a little earlier and balled like this all year, he's my comeback player of the year. But he came in just a little too late. You gotta love the way he's playing right now, and I am glad that they will win the East instead of the Boys. Fuck the Cowboys. Here, we also run into our second coach who will definately be fired this offseason after TC. Jim Mora is as good as gone. Blank obviously hates him, and to be honest I think this is a team that should have made the playoffs. I think he would make a great college coach (I mean this in a good way).
Prediction: Eagles, eagles -8

Buffalo at Baltimore
Buffalo is out and the Ravens can clinch with a win or an Indy loss. I think they win, but if I'm them I'm not playing Steve McNair cause he will mess himself up just to win this game. That means something in the playoffs but not in week 17 when you have already clinched. I like the Bills next year, JP has stepped up, Willis McGahee is a good runner, and defensively they play hard. I would have picked them if Baltimore had nothing to play for, but with Ray Lewis and Ed Reed knowing a playoff bye could be thiers, B-More wins a defensive ball game. On a seperate note, after watching the Wire I am convinced that every guy on the Ravens would fit perfectly on the show: Ray Lewis has killed someone, Jamal Lewis was busted setting up a drug deal, Adalius Thomas has a big scar on his face like Omar, McNair is like the boxing dude. I mean they fit the Wire Baltimore perfectly.
Prediction: Ravens, Bills +9 1/2

Miami at Indy
I am so fucking tempted to take the Fish but Indy is on the turf and should win. Enough said. I am getting kind of tired so I am not doing much for this game. Sorry. However, Cleo Lemon might be one of the best names in football history, this is what an old Caribbean voodoo person should be named. Oh wait.
Prediction: Indy, Colts -9

San Francisco at Denver
The Niners in my book have nothing to be ashamed of this year. Let's be honest, talent wise I don't think they are all that great, but they are well coached and have improved big time over last year. The playoffs were never realistic, but the fact that they came close speaks to their heart. Denver on the other hand is in position to make the playoffs. Big upset of the week #1: niners win. I think Nolan is going to have them ready, Frank Gore is gonna run 30 times for 160 and the Niners win. Of course this could be horribly wrong, but I am giving it a shot.
Prediction: Niners, Niners +10 1/2

Sunday 5:15 PM
Green Bay at Chicago
Semi-Big Upset of the week #2. In my book the Bears should throw this game. I want to see Brett Favre in the playoffs one last time. I do think that the Packers win this game, and take home the #6 seed. He should then retire and go out as well as anyone thought possible. The Bears have absolutely nothing to play for, they really should just let Brett in one last time.
Prediction: Packers, Pack +3

AFC 6 teams:1) San Diego 2) B-More 3) Indy 4) New England 5) J-E-T-S 6) I don't believe it but based on my picks: Titans

NFC 6 teams: 1) Chicago 2) N'awlins 3) Philly 4)Seattle 5) Dallas 6) Packers

I'm so sick of applications and college and now I'm so tired from writing this. I'm taking a nap.

Fantasy Football: The Year in Review...

John 0
Mark 1
Archie 1
Ian 1
Harrison
1
Clay 2
Alex 2
RJ 4
Andy 4
Me 7

No, this list is not measuring the varying sizes of penises in the league (everyone should go to www.allsp.com and watch Chinpokomon from the 3rd season.) The above list is how many losses each person had after scoring 125 points or more. Just like for baseball fantasy, I got fucked. FUCKED. Andy had it rough, and RJ kinda did, but two of his losses were when he scored exactly 125. Explain that list to me, and I’ll give you a beej. I make that wager because there is no explanation for that other than shit luck. Fuck it.

Not to mention that my 3rd round pick didn’t play a snap all season. Considering the Texans super-sick-ass hydra of Wali Lundy, Ron Dayne and Samkon Gado rushed for 1,149 yards and 8 touchdowns, I know Domanick Davis would have done much better. Fuck it. Also, not to mention that my 2nd round pick, Larry Fitzgerald, was the 2nd WR taken but because of injury ended up the 27th ranked WR. Trent Green also missed out on…just a couple games. FUCK.

Best Draft Pick:

Technically this award should go to John for his pick of Nate Kaeding in the last round, but kickers are super ghey. Therefore, I give the award to myself for picking Kellen Winslow in the 19th round. What a sav. Another great candidate for this award would be Alex for sticking with his gut and taking LT second. Also, Clay made a nice value pick in Drew Brees, but the fact that he was coming off a good year already takes that pick down a peg or two. (Note: I eliminated a lot of potential winners for this because the owner didn’t actually know what they were doing and just got lucky…like John who wasn’t really there, which also factors in to why he doesn’t win this award.)

Worst Draft Pick:

Ian should get this. Eli Manning at 12th overall, before Palmer, Brady, et al. What a retard. But I’m going to continue this trend and give it to myself for Shayne “I will never pick him in fantasy/I want to diarrhea in his face” Graham. The only fucking kicker in the NFL to miss 2 PAT’s all year, and one just had to come in the last week of the regular season. I miss the playoffs by one point. FUCK THAT.

Best FA Pickup:

Per usual, there were a few waiver-wire studs this year. But, the award has to go to Andy for the pick up of Maurice Jones-Drew. A De La Salle Trojan turned UCLA Bruin, Jones-Drew repped the Best Coast hard all year long and finished in the top-15 for fantasy scoring. This really pissed me off because I grabbed Greg Jones late who I thought would be a valuable backup to Fred Taylor, but Jones got hurt (FUCK) and didn’t take a snap all year. Overall though I win for best waiver wire scavenging, with pickups of Marques Colston, Vince Young, Ladell Betts (haha John), and even JP Losman. Mark struck gold with Tony Romo, as well.

Worst Drop:

John, for Romo real early on, and Betts later. Haha R-Tard. Harrison and RJ also both had little affairs with VY, but clearly didn’t have the same type of man-crush I had.

Highest Point Total:

Andy put up a monstrous 194 points in Week 6, beating poor Alex who put up 140.

Lowest Point Total:

Surprisingly not Ian, but also not surprising that it was Clay. What is shocking is that it didn’t come after he picked up all Niners; in Week 7 Clay put up an incredible 55 points. Wow.

New Level of Futility:

Ian. 2 wins in a league that had a surprising amount of parity. One of his wins was after he dropped 88 points on Mark, who couldn’t quite pull it out with 84. Longest streak was 8 weeks of straight losing. Congrats dude.

Champion:

Mark. I’m really glad you beat Andy and “generally” like you as a person, so I’m happy. But the bitterness of this season will last for a long time, so don’t expect any real kudos just yet. Still, 2nd year in a row, you must be doing something right.

Should Have Won the League:

Me. Fucking ridiculous. I figured, had Shayne Graham not missed that PAT, or someone on my team scored 2 more points, I would have beaten Alex and made the playoffs. Alex would remain in 2nd place at 9-5 because he had a point advantage over Andy, so I would have had the 4th seed. I would have beaten John 139-117, and then beaten Mark for the championship 139-130. Go figure. FUCK FUCK FUCK.

The only thing that makes this in any way less annoying is that two of my other squads, “Poop Poop Vagina” and “|-O-| TIE FIGHTERS!!” both won their respective championships. Huzzah.

Michelle Sissy Tyson is a HO-MO...

Usually I hate Best Damn Sports Show Period, but this is really funny, even though it's impossible to understand what he's saying half the time. Alex, you especially should watch this. Watch all the way through; the end is hysterical.

Re-instate the Horse Collar!!!

Bring that shit back.

Best parts are the guy doing a 360, Bill Cowher checking out the guys ass, and the punter or QB getting a good lick in (#9 on the Eagles).

I wreak of holiday spirit...

I wish I could do this at my house. I think if I spent the amount of time required to orchestrate this , my dad would beat me for wasting my time like this. Whatever, it would be totally worth it. I bet the guy who made this got helluv poon, as well as a sick contract from Miller, who is using this exact idea and song for their holiday commerical. For how creative beer ads usually are, I didn't think they would copy someone else for one of their most important ads. The original video is really cool though.

Enjoy.

Espn Bloopers

Charlie Steiner is soooo funny when he laughs about Carl Lewis singing the National Antem.

I am soooo drunk from last night..... WOW. HUGE HANGOVER! Okay thats it.

Get Rashaun Woods Out of Here...

The quote this week comes from Harrison, who we all have to thank for the excellent little shindig last night. Good stuff. This quote came when Harrison was going to bed and apparently Rashaun Woods was in his house and he did not like that, so he was supposed to leave. Last weeks picks I went 9-7, my best week to date, bringing me up to .500 at 24-24. Against the spread which I really suck at I went 11-5 actually, bringing me to 21-27. I am getting hot baby! I'm on a roll. Alright let's get to the picks. Onwards!!!

Thursday 5:00 PM
Minnesota at Green Bay
Well my wish has finally come true, as the Vikes will be starting rookie QB Tavaris Jackson tonight. The Pack have now won back-to-back games, and will likely be feeling pretty good about themselves. Lambeau will be close to a frozen tundreau tonight, as the forecast is for rain and snow. Once again, I feel I cannot pick against Brett Favre in December at home. I think that Minnesota will really get a spark out of Tavaris, but I don't think that it will be enough for them to win. It is still key to remember that Minnesota is a dome team, and will be a little out of their element in the cold at Lambeau tonight. Green Bay has sort of quietly moved into the top 10 in terms of total offense, and I think that they should be able to get it done tonight against the Vikes.
Prediction: Packers, Packers -4

Saturday 5:00 PM
Kansas City at Oakland
A game that would mean a lot in other years, as this is a big rivalry. However, this year the Raiders, as we all know, suck and the Chiefs are fighting to keep any semblance of playoff hopes alive. Right now they are completly on the outside looking in, as they are the last team in the AFC with playoff possibilities. The Raiders are actually in the top 4 defensively in the league, but offensively no team looks worse. Expect a steady dose of LJ, as the Raiders are awful against the run, and the Chiefs should get a lead early, and then basically run the game out. On a seperate note Namdi Asomugha totally should have made the pro bowl for the Raiders. He has played lights out defense all year, and while lots of teams don't throw on the Raiders cause they don't have to, he deserves a some credit for making the Raiders the #1 pass defense in the NFL.
Prediction: KC, KC -10

Sunday 10:00 AM
Baltimore at Pittsburgh
This is an interesting match-up because you have two teams playing with a lot on the line. Baltimore wants to wrap up the number 2 seed in the playoffs by catching Indianapolis, and Pittsburg has been making a little run and has put themselves in post-season contention. Had the Steelers gotten hot a little earlier, they could really be in good shape for the post-season, but this run might be too little too late. The Steelers strength is running the ball, while the strength of the #1 ranked Baltimore defense is stopping the run. Baltimore's 3-4 has been very effective this year, as Bart Scott, Ray Lewis, and Adalius Thomas have all had pro-bowl caliber years at Linebacker. Pittsburgh really is a tough place to play in December but the weather is not supposed to be all that bad. For this pick I am really going against my gut and taking Baltimore. I think that there D will be able to slow down the running game and force Big Ben into making bad throws, as the Baltimore D is money when it comes to turnovers.
Prediction: Baltimore, Ravens +3

Carolina at Atlanta
A game a few weeks ago that would have looked like a game with huge wild card implications. Its still a big game, as Atlanta fights for a playoff seed, but Carolina has fallen badly. It looks like Weinke will be starting again, and that surely means victory for the Falcons. With Kris Jenkins out, expect a lot of Warrick Dunn and Michael Vick running the ball, as the league's #1 rushing attack could break out for a big day. Last week in their tough loss to the Cowboys, Vick did it all with his arm; this week I expect him to have a big day with his feet and he will eclipse the 1000 yard mark on the season for sure.
Prediction: Falcons, Falcons (no line as of Thursday)

Chicago at Detroit
A bad one-sided matchup. The Detroit Lions are the posterboard of poor management, as the ownership has let Matt Millen run this team into the shitter. Chicago almost slipped up last week against a poor opponent, but I think they will coast to an easy victory this week. One point: yeah its great that Rex Grossman is starting to turn it around and play well, but he still has not faced a good team in some time. When he gets to the playoffs, that's when he really needs to start being a good QB, as putting up points against poor teams that you should beat does not count for all that much. The Lions need to really take a good look at John Kitna and decide whether they think he can carry the reigns for another year or two, and if this is not the case, they better start talking to Brady Quinn.
Prediction: Bears, Bears - 5 1/2

Indianapolis at Houston
I really don't like the Colts at this moment for fantasy reasons (Marvin Harrison knocked me out of the championship) but they should win the match-up handedly. The Colts should try to get an early lead and then run the ball with Joseph Addai (if healthy) and Domenic Rhodes. We all know that they can pass, but in terms of the run they are in the middle of the pack, and they might try to sharpen up before they reach the playoffs. The Texans possess few weapons for the Colts to worry about, and since the Texans have no real RB, the Colts should not be gashed that badly.
Prediction: Colts, Colts -10

New England at Jacksonville
The first real toughy of the week. Jacksonville is ridiculously inconsistent, but they always find a way to show up for big games, especially home games. New England has had a rocky season as well, but are leading the AFC East by a good margin, and are a win or Jets loss away from clinching. The Pats rushing attack has been middle of the road, and the Jacksonville road graters up front should be able to shut down an aging Corey Dillon. Tom Brady could go off and have a big game, but I cannot see that happening this week. I expect the Jags will pull this one out in a close, low-scoring match-up, featuring two teams with defenses that could take them past the first round in the playoffs. Jacksonville right now is the 7th seed in the AFC, but i expect the Broncos to slip up, and I think the Jags will sneak in as the 6th seed.
Prediction: Jags, Jags -3

Tampa Bay at Cleveland
This is without a doubt the worst matchup of the week. Two teams going nowhere, with no #1 draft pick aspirations, and no starting QB's. I tell you, I can't wait to watch Tim Rattay vs. Derek Anderson! What a matchup. Barf all the way around.
Prediction: Cleveland, Browns -3

Tennessee at Buffalo
This on the other hand, I feel would be a game to watch. A really silly little game, as the winner is going to end up being over .500. Vince Young has beaten me almost every week, to the extent that whenever I do picks in the future, his clutchness is going to be a factor to always consider. The man just knows how to win games, (Cliche!). Buffalo, like I said last week, I know little about, but from what I can tell, they are winning with defense, as they are second from the bottom offensively, but are close to the top in Points per game defensively. I think Vince Young might beat me again, because I am going with the Bills. I like the home team here playing in cold shitty Buffalo. The Titans aren't used to Buffalo weather, and Vince Young has only ever played in Tennesse and Texas, so I think he may be thrown off by the cold. But he's proven me wrong many times already, and I wouldn't be surprised if he does it again.
Prediction: Bills, Bills - 4 1/2

Washington at St. Louis
Another one of those game that really in the grand scheme of things means little. Yea, St. Louis is in contention for a playoff spot (barely), and Washington beat New Orleans last week (a total trap game scenario), but really eeh. Who cares. I think the Rams should be able to run on the Skins and put up a win on the turf. I haven't been really following Jason Campbell closely but it seems like he can play a little and maybe this game will be close. Hopefully at the very least it will be high scoring.
Prediction: Rams, Rams -2

New Orleans at NY Giants
This game is sad for me to comment on. The Giants to me look just about done; they are poorly coached on both sides of the ball, but the second i count them out I feel like Al Pacino in the Godfather, "they pull me back in" with a win. New Orleans is a team to watch in the playoffs. I absolutly cannot see them being beaten in the Superdome. This is the type of game where the Giants stick around for three quarters, keeping it close and then get burnt by two Reggie Bush touchowns for 50+ yards at the end. It never fails with the Giants, they used to do the same thing with Deion, and a few years back they did the same thing with Brian Westbrook. Coughlin in my book has to go at the end of the year, while at the other end of the spectrum, ex-Giants offensive coordinator Sean Payton has to win the Coach of the Year. Also the Giants will not be able to stop the Saints passing attack. Eli Manning actually played decently last week, both interceptions can not be completly attributed to him, and he threw the ball very well aside from that. Classy move by Coughlin though throwing him under the bus during his postgame comments last week. Hopefully Strahan will be back for an emotional boost.
Prediction: Saints, Saints +3 (Don't even ask me how the Giants are the favorites for this game, that is absolutely ridiculous)

Sunday 4:00 PM
Arizona at San Francisco
Don't look now, but the Niners have a legitimate shot at making the playoffs. They play a shitty Arizona team this week, a mediocre Denver team next week, while the Seahawks play SD this week and a potential slip-up game at TB to end the year. To be honest, I feel Frank Gore has to be in the running (we all know LT will win) for the MVP award; he deserves some third and fourht place votes, as really only two other players that I can think of have been more valuable to their team. I liked what I saw in the second half from Alex Smith last week, and he Norv Turner should focus on more of the same with him. He's still young and inexperience, so you can't expect too much, but he definately shows glimpses of loveliness. Arizona is a funny little team. Offensively, I think there sick, as Edge, Anquan and Larry Fitzgerald are quite a trio, but they always find a way to be poor. I hate to say this to all the Niners fans but I feel kind of an urge to pick them this week, but I still think the Niners pull it out. However, I want to attach a quote from my favorite sports writer, Bill Simmons, The Sports Guy for ESPN says this :
"I'm worried about the 49ers fans: They're a little too excited for the whole, "We're going to beat the Cards, and Seattle's gonna lose, and if we win and they lose next week, we win the division!" scenario. You'd hate to see them get their hearts broken and have to drown their sorrows in Syrah on Sunday night."
Prediction: 49ers, Niners -4

Cincinnati at Denver
From this point on, this week has no easy buckets. Denver will be feeling good about their win last week, while Cincy needs to bounce back from their loss to the Colts. To be honest, this game depends on whether or not Carson Palmer plays and I am doing my pick that way. This is what you get for doing your picks on Thursday. I have doubted Jay Culter a little this year, but that pass he threw 63 yards in the air over Javon Walker's shoulder was pretty. The Bengals need to get a win this week, and I expect that they do, and I think that we will be seeing Carson Palmer play.
P.S. Check out Chad Johnson's shoes. If he wears the same ones as he did last week, you gotta see them because they are covered in pictures of all his successes and shenanigans.
Prediction: Bengals, Bengals +3. If Carson Palmer doesn't play Broncoes, Broncs -3

San Diego at Seattle
This could be the most interesting game of the week. SD are the favorites, and its hard for them not to be, but I'll tell you now, and I am sorry 49ers fans but I am picking the Seahawks. The Chargers are still in position for the first seed and everything is looking good, but I am still feeling a trap loss in the next two weeks. Hopefully for the Niners sake its next week but I think its coming now. Marty Schottenheimer still has yet to blow a game this year (he always blows at least 1) and going into the playoffs, who knows what Marty will do. Also, Seattle playing at home in a playoff clinching scenario is pretty tough to pick against, we all know their 12th man is money, though they did lose in the same circumstances to the Niners last week. Shaun Alexander needs to bust open with a big game; I have never been a big Matt Hassleback fan and I still don't believe he can win the big game on his own. The Chargers need to start resting LT and keeping him fresh for the next two months.
Prediction: Seahawks (sorry), Seahawks + 4 1/2

Monday 5:00 PM
Philadelphia at Dallas
The match-up of two of my least favorite teams, because they both took 1 off the Giants this year. Dallas is in great shape to be the number 2 seed in the playoffs, and the Eagles are in good shape to win a wild-card spot. Then who slips up? I say the Eagles. The Eagles have been playing with a lot of passion and heart these past couple of weeks, and I just feel that they are due. Dallas I think got their last loss out of their system, and I think they'll win out in the regular season. Dallas should be able to run the ball against the Eagles and should be able to contain Brian Westbrook, and I think that this game could get one sided.
Prediction: Cowboys, Eagles +7

Monday 8:30 PM
NY Jets at Miami
Yay two Monday Night Christmas games this year! In this game, the Jets playoff hopes come to an end as they lose to the Dolphins. For some reason, I have a really strong gut feeling about this game. This is just the type of game wild-card contenders seem to lose; the big game on national TV while playing a mediocre opponent on the road. All signs point to a Jets victory here, as they beat Minnesota last week on the road and are currently tied with the same record as the other 2 wild card teams, but I just gotta bad feeling about this game.
Prediction: Dolphins, Dolphins -2 1/2

I'm still feeling a little hungover from last night so sorry if there is more gramatical mistakes this week. I'm doing my best.

Balls balls balls balls balls balls balls...

Wow this is awesome this is so sweet im so fucking pumped wow this is going to revitalize our franchise this is exactly what we need this is going to be great.
I mean, c'mon. fuck me. another super-sweet-mid-30's-journeyman-infield-utility guy who once had a bunch of pretty decent seasons.
At least he's only costing us $1.75 million.

I bet we trade for Gil Meche next.

Bobby Knight...funnny guy...

In honor of the fact that most likely, in the next couple of weeks, Bobby Knight will become the winningest basketball coach in NCAA, here are several videos of Bobby. The first video is a series of outtakes from a golf show he used to do. It is basically him getting really, really angry and cursing a lot. He actually can't talk though. The second is the top ten sound bites from his career. A few of them are funny. The last clip is his famous chair throwing incident. I figure it was worth throwing in.

Mr George W Bush For ya

In light of recent events...

I think Carmelo should have taken this event into account before he went around "sucker punching" people. That was not a punch, but this is...

A will take a 15 game suspension over a life ban any day...but it would be cool to drop someone like they actually died when you hit them.

I hope that ref was okay.

I'm so irrelevant...

In like 7th or 8th grade Alex Crane and I made a stop-motion video about Jesus talking to a bunch of toys about abstinence. Basically it was all about penises, and at the end this clay man Alex got in some weird country who has a huge dick uses it to pick Jesus up (while he's humping a doll) and throws him over the side of the table. It was pretty sweet, but this is sweeter.

Harry had this on his facebook, so I reference him.

I order to get our blog into the newer version, all of the owners (i.e. everyone who can contribute) need to switch to the new blogger version. It is on the blogger homepage. If you have problems, call me.

Traffic Report 12/6/2006...

This is how I know I'm slowly becoming really nerdy. If you don't know, I installed a SiteMeter a while ago on our blog (you can see the logo at the very bottom) that counts all this different shit about who looks at it.

This graph counts Page Views; how many different IP addresses look at our blog (so, even if I looked at the blog 80 times in one night, it would still only count as 1 Page View). We're averaging about 30 per day towards the end of the month; we're almost reaching D-List celebrity status!
There's tons of lists that show where people are from who are looking at our blog, what time of day, how long they looked at it, etc. Mostly it's from San Francisco and the Bay Area, but I see some weird ass shit.
We have visitors from: Brunswick, Maine (which is Bowdoin); Urbana, Illinois; Plano, Texas; Clifton, New Jersey; the UK; Vancouver, BC
and...
da da da da!!! Dornbirn, Austria! I have no idea who that is, but it says they were on our blog for 0 seconds. Fucking Germans.

John-it now says you can update the blogger on the homepage again. Also, you should make it so anyone can leave comments, not just us. It could be more fun that way.

Oh, and here's a video:

A good review...

A writer for the SF Chronicle (TIm Goodman) calls The Wire, "the best show ever made for television".

I dont take no charity

hello friends,
finally postin on da blog. In light of Alex's new facebook group on the wire i must say its where my heads at. THe 4th (tragically the second to last) season is over and i cant wait for christmas day when i can start watchin seasons one through 3 when i get the dvds. all you bitches with HBO on demand should watch the whole 4th season it was epic. I have picked a scene from youtube that i feel is pivitol and a good starting point to review some key themes prevelant throughout the season.

We start this one of with the kids, what the 4th season focuses on. MIchael and Namond go to bodie, a corner man who started out with the bargdale crew (earlier seasons) and who namond now works for. Michael is short on cash and namond gives up his job so that Michael can make some dough for him and his little brother bug. We see Namonds lazyness and Michaels first expose to the corner. Then the boys are all hangin on a stoop when one of marlo's luitenants comes over and starts handin two hundred bucks to everyone. Marlo, is a young guy who takes over most of west baltimore gettin Chris and snoop to kill people left and right. Michael refuses the money, not wanting to owe anyone, a trait that Marlo sees as admirable. We then get introduced to doughnut, alex's favorite character. All this kid does is steal cars, but still he doesnt know how to drive. HE roles up in an escalade with the music bumpin nearlly crashin into shit left and right. Then the po role up and Randy, later know as a "snitch bitch" gets his money taken by officer walker, a true bitch of a cop who they later get their pay back on. In then end of the clip namond goes home to his big momma to find hella nice clothes on his bed. Namond's dad was big with the bargsdale crew but got arrested in season 3 and is now in jail. Namond, not cut out for the streets is spoiled but his mother expects him to start makin money on the corner, somethin he cant do.
This shit can get confusin and i know all you have been watchin a few episodes so chime in on what you think.

I new to this shiit so maybe i dont know what the protocall is but hey lesson me.

Tha Carter (Vol. 2)

Lil' Wayne is my boy at the moment.

Here is another keeper of his if you have not already heard it.

My Picks (because Alex is 15-17, I still like you)

So, to start off I'm not going to be doing any quotes, although I do enjoy them. Also because none of us bet, I'm not going to do the spread also because now that thursday night football (NICE) plays the spread is not final by then so, its silly. I'm just going to start off. In the future I will analyze but I have two finals tomarrow, so I'm just going to say winner, and biggest impact player offense and defense.

-Niners at Seahawks: NINERS
Offense: Frank Gore
Defense: Brandon Moore

- Dallas at Atlanta: ATLANTA
Offense: Mike Vick(lots with the feet too)
Defense: Demarcus Ware

- Browns at Ravens: RAVENS
Ofense: Jamal Lewis ( but who really cares)
Defense: The whole team, but I'll say Adalius Thomas

-Detroit at Green Bay: GREEN BAY
Offense: Bret Favre
Defense: Ernie Sims

- Houston at New England: PATS
Offense: Laurence Maroney
Defense: DeMeco Ryans

- Jaguars at Titans: Gotta Roll with Vince TITANS
Offense: Vince Young/ Jones-Drew
Defense: Rashean Mathis

-Miami at Bills: MIAMI
Offense: Joey Harrington
Defense: Jason Taylor

- Jets at Vikings: J-E-T-S. JETS JETS JETS
Offense: Jericho Cotchery
Defense: Jonathan Vilma

- Steelers at Panthers: PANTHERS ( because I will never pick Big Ben)
Offense: Willie Parker
Defense: Julius Peppers

- Bucs at Bears: BEARS
Offense: Devin Hester (special teams counts, because there Offense is terrible)
Defense: Lance Briggs/ Mark Anderson

- Skins at Saints: SAINTS
Offense: Drew Brees/Reggie Bush
Defense: Charles Grant

- Broncos at Cardinals: CARDS ( just because I'm pulling for Matt)
Offense: Matt Leinart
Defense: Adrian Wilson

- Rams at Raiders: RAMS
Offense: Stephen Jackson
Defensive: Nnamdi Asomugha

- Giants at Eagles: GIANTS
Offense: Tiki Barber
Defense: Antonio Pierce

- Chiefs at Bolts: BOLTS
Offense: LT
Defense: Donnie Edwards

-Bengals at Colts: BENGALS
Offense: Rudi Johnson
Defense: Justin Smith

THATS IT!

In the NFL, I lived on two and a half hours' sleep, it caught up to me, but that's the way I rolled: butt-naked booty bumpin"...

The quote this week to commemerate my NFL picks comes from none other than Nate Newton, the man who I used to think was the fattest man alive, and the pro football player that was found with 213 lbs of weed in his van one time, and than 5 weeks later with 175 lbs of weed. That's a lot of fucking dank. Anyways on with the picks: I was 7-9 on my picks last week which makes me 15-17 on the season and was 5-11 against the spread again, making me 10-22 on the season. That means i can only improve. Onwards!!!

Thursday 5:00 PM
Niners at Seahawks
This match-up doesn't bode very well for the Niners. Playing in Seattle is never easy as they have one of the best 12th men in the game with their crowd, and it always gets tougher to play there as the season wares on. However, both of these two teams are coming off of a defeat and it will be interesting to see how each responds. The last time the Niners played Seattle we saw a steady dose of Frank Gore and if Nolan has a head on his shoulders he should continue to give him the load. Alex Smith has regressed with the progression of the season and they should focus, like I said last week, with short and middle range passes as he does not have a great downfield arm. I am curious to see how mister VD does this week and whether he has any highlights in store. Seattle's veteran leadership allows them to win this game but the Niners will put up one last good fight before there season ends officially.
Prediction: Seahawks, Seahawks -10

Saturday 5:00 PM
Dallas at Atlanta
Interesting game here this week especially after the Tony Romo bubble burst a little last week. He didn't have a great game against the Giants, and he continued that up with a poor game against the Saints. The Falcons are coming off an important win and are right in the middle of the Wild Card hunt, like they are every year, and I anticipate that they will blow it like they do everyyear. The Dallas defense is fast and strong and should be able to contain Michael Vick and his poor group of Wide Receivers and I like the Cowboys to pick apart the Falcons offensively. I think this could actually be sort of a blowout, yet the Falcons are one of those teams who could play lights out and then win this game by 2 touchdowns. Plus the Falcons are hurting a bit.
Prediction: Cowboys, Cowboys -3 1/2

Sunday 10:00 AM
Cleveland at Baltimore
Baltimore dominated Kansas City, one of the few things I got right last week, while Cleveland was dominated by the Steelers. I like the Ravens in this matchup, obviously, even though the last time they played the game was real close. I think it will be close once again, with the Baltimore D posting either a 0 or keeping the Browns in single digits, while the Ravens don't score more than 17 points.
Prediction: Ravens, Browns (my 1-1 cover team) +11 1/2

Detroit at Green Bay
I don't really have much to say on this. Two bad teams this year that are really struggling this year, even though the Pack upset the Niners last week. Favre finally got his shit together, which in a way was nice to see, and I think he'll lead the Pack to victory again in Lambeau in December. The Lions are without Kevin Jones (good news for my fantasy matchup) and will become one-dimensional early which is not neccesarily good with Jon Kitna at QB.
Prediction: Packers, Pack -5 1/2

Houston at New England
There's no way Tom Brady will lose again in December, right? right? I think he'll finally get his shit together this week and stop killing my fantasy team. The Texans are not a terrible team in my book, but they gotta be feeling like r-tards for passing up on Vince Young, Reggie Bush, and Matt Leinart who have all had decent years. The Pats will win this game at home in December, they should dominate on the ground as the Texans are giving up 124 ypg on the ground. Bill Belichick will have them ready and with their head in the game, and they aren't going to slip up again on their road to the postseason.
Prediction: Pats, Pats -11 1/2

Jacksonville at Tennessee
A funny little matchup this. Jacksonville is coming off murdering the Colts, but they always play better at hom. Tennesee has got a 3 game winning streak going, and Vince Young has taken the ROY pole position. Jacksonville is the more talented team here and I expect them to win, but no team is more inconsistent. Tennessee's rushing game is what their offense is based around, they are in the top 5, while Jacksonville's rushing D is in the top 5. In that matchup, the one that will decide the game, I think the Jags win, as Marcus Stround and John Henderson can clog up the middle and force Vince Young into passing to win, which who knows? He might just do it.
Prediction: Jags, Titans +3 1/2

Miami at Buffalo
Another silly little matchup. Both teams coming off huge upset wins. One beating the Jets, the other beating the Pats. A game that really has little riding on it, but since it is in Buffalo in the winter, and the Fish are a warm weather team, I like the Bills. The Bills are probably the team I know the least about in the NFL this year, they are third to last offensively and in the middle of the road defensively. I normally really like the Fins, but this time, i just can't see them pulling it out. Best wishes to Daunte Culpepper: I hope he gets healthy now that he's on IR and can come back and have at least 1 good year.
Prediction: Bills, Bills -1

N.Y. Jets at Minnesota
Two teams that I have seen labeled with the "sleeper" tag. The Jets could still sneak into the playoffs, while more unlikely after their loss last week, while the Vikings are 6-7 but play the Jets, the Packers and the Rams, and with three wins they could make the playoffs. I don't find that likely, but a couple guys on ESPN are toting them big time. The Jets statistically are one of the worst teams in the league, they are in the bottom half for both offense and defense but have a lot of those immeasureables, such as heart and desire. Mangini has really inspired them and I think he'll have them ready for the game this week and the Jets will win. The Vikes are well coached as well and are in the top 5 defensively, so I think this will be a low-scoring tight affair. The Jets pull out the upset though.
Prediction: Jets, Jets +3

Pittsburgh at Carolina
One team rising quickly and the other falling quickly. I hate the Steelers a lot, but if they had gotten hot earlier, they would have had the tools to make the playoffs. Even with that said, they are 6-7 and to some extent have their future in their hands as if they win this week, they will play the two teams ahead of them, the Ravens and the Panthers. The Panthers on the other hand are falling fast and are suffering from the injury bug. Hines Ward is back for the Steelers, and if the Panthers starting CB's are still out- both are questionable- the Steelers as much as I hate to say it should be able to throw all day on the Panthers. The Steelers are in good shape for this one after a long week.
Prediction: Steelers, Steelers (no line)

Tampa Bay at Chicago
One of the best defense of the late 90's and early 00's faces the best defense of the middle 00's. The Bears D is mean. They will shut down the little offense that the Bucs offense has at this point. The TB defense is not what it used to be, they are right in the middle of total defense, and while the Bears O is pretty poor, it won't hurt them til the playoffs. A 14 point spread is fucking huge though, the Bears don't cover, but still win comfortably.
Prediction: Bears, Bucs +14

Washington at New Orleans
I really dislike Washington and am writing a lot more this week and this is taking a while this week, so I won't comment on this game in depth because I see it being one sided. Saints at the Superdome. That's all that needs to be said.
Prediction: Saints, Saints -10

Sunday 4:00 PM
Denver at Arizona
The battle of the rookie white QB's. Here is my big upset of the week; I like the Cards in this game. They have one their last two games and I think they will keep it up this week as well. Their win last week was big; no one thought they could beat the Seahawks, and Denver's really reeling. I'm not faulting Shanahan, but did he really think the Broncs would have a better shot with a rookie QB at the helm? I mean they were still a team with a winning record.
Prediction: Cardinals, Cards +3

St. Louis at Oakland
Another shitty game, possibly the worst of the week. St. Louis is reeling, the Raiders suck, and neither of these teams have anything to play for. I want the Raiders to win, but I just don't see that happen. Its time for them to start thinking about one of the top 2 picks of the draft. Do they go with Brady Quinn? Do they go with a new coach? Do they shock everyone and take Troy Smith? One mock draft has them taking Calvin Johnson. That's a raider nation silver and black pick.
Prediction: Rams, Rams +2 1/2

Giants at Philadelphia
The most important game for both these teams this year. The game earlier this year was epic, if you were a Giants fans, and both teams have reason to be optimistic going into this game. The Eagles have won back-to-back games, and Jeff Garcia has them in position to make the playoffs with a win. On the other hand, Eli Manning has finally gotten his shit together, with 5 touchdowns and 0 picks in the last two weeks while managing the game like a pro. I hate the fucking Eagles and the Giants need to win, as if they do they will be in the drivers seat for making the playoffs. I think this will be a close NFC East game no matter what. The weather is sposed to be nice, but typical of Giants stadium in December its gonna be really windy, making it tough for both teams to throw the ball. In a running game, I like the Giants to win, as they are 8th in the league in both rushing the ball and stopping the run. The Eagles on the other hand are a pass first team, and this will doom them this week in Giants Stadium...Hopefully.
Prediction: Giants, Eagles +6

Sunday 5:15 PM
Kansas City at San Diego
The Bolts are now officially the best team in the NFL and are playing like it. LT is a boss, Antonio Gates is a boss, and everyone else knows their role and performs it well. Kansas City is fucking desperate for a win to keep their playoff hopes alive after losses to B-More (yay the Wire!) and Cleveland. The Chargers have little to play for at this point, and this is my other upset of the week. Its unlikely, but I think this week they take their foot off the gas, and lose a squeaker. LT has only 1 touchdown, and to be honest if I'm Marty Schottenheimer I'm limiting him to 15 carries the next couple of weeks, as I think Antonio Turner is good enough to take some carries for the next three weeks.
Prediction: Kansas City, KC +9

Monday 5:30 PM
Cincinnati at Indianapolis
Last week I said I couldn't see the Colts losing back to back weeks and losing 3 out of 4, but this week I say their streak continues. That's right, I'm going with Cincy. I like the Bengals passing attack and rushing attack against the worst rushing defense in the league and they sure proved it last week against Jacksonville. Everything looks a little off for the Colts right now, I think they're going to be in a dogfight for their division title after this week.
Prediction: Bengals, Bengals +3 1/2

Cut the grass, gravy...

I mean, seriously. This is what's wrong with baseball. This is why nobody gives a shit about the World Series, and why football is becoming the new national pastime. Not only is there absolutely NO PARITY in the league, retarded owners are shelling out superfluous amounts of cash to sign mediocre players.

Ted Lilly-
2003: ERA 4.34, WHIP 1.33, K 147
2004: ERA 4.06, WHIP 1.32, K 168
2005: ERA 5.56, WHIP 1.53, K 96
2006: ERA 4.31, WHIP 1.43, K 160

$10 million a year for four years? For a 30 year-old, mediocre pitcher? His best year by far was in 2004, yet before that he was a nobody, and after that has fell in to obscurity. Or atleast that's what I thought; apparently, Lilly's talent (which I'm still looking for) was considered extremely valuble this offseason.

Gil Meche
2003: ERA 4.59, WHIP 1.34, K 130
2004: ERA 5.01, WHIP 1.46, K 99
2005: ERA 5.09, WHIP 1.57, K 83
2006: ERA 4.48, WHIP 1.43, K 156

I log on to MLB.com today, and I see the headline, "Royals land new ace Meche with five-year pact". ACE? A-fucking-C-fucking-E? KC's GM Dayton Moore (who, given the past couple years is obviously a fucking genius) says "He's the youngest guy out there with the best raw stuff entering the prime of his career". So he gives him $55 million over 5 years. Excuse you? OK, maybe the "youngest guy" part was right (Daisuke Matsuzaka excluded), but the rest of that sentence is the biggest horseshit I have ever read. Meche is a typical hard throwing guy who will strike some people out, but gives up way too many baserunners to ever be effective. "Prime of his career"? He had one pretty solid year, followed it up with two shit ones, and then had another solid one.
I'm glad the Royals who showed promise this year in investing in young stars like Mark Teahan and Ryan Shealy finally came to their senses. It's a good thing they shelled out all that money for a mediocre pitcher whos going to get shit on in that division; if they hadn't, they wouldn't be like everyone else now, would they?

Cut, the grass, MLB.

EDIT: Just saw the news. Barry is staying here for one year, earning a solid $16 million. $11 million for an overrated player who plays once every five game, for paying $16 million for the greatest player of the modern era who will play once every 2 (or 3) games? I'll take the latter, thank you very much.

People like the melons...

This comes from a quote that I found of one of the true bosses of the NFL and the best fullback in the league Lorenzo Neal: "People like the melons, the strawberries, the bananas; they like the tomatoes. I'm like that old onion; When you want a good hamburger, you've got to call on that old onion"--Neal on his role in the Chargers offense." I just felt I should pay homage to a very underrated football dude. Last week I went 8-8 picking winners and 5-11 against the spread...that's just awful. This week I am back with avengence and experience. Onward!!

Thursday 8:00 PM
Cleveland at Pittsburgh
Two pretty shitty teams both coming off wins. Cleveland had one of the big upsets (of many) last week by beating the Chiefs while playing 2 QB's. Frye is questionable but I doubt he will play. The steelers are without 4 starters, including Polamalu and Ward, which really hurts their chances. But they are playing in Pittsburgh in December and I expect the Steelers to pull this one out in what could make for another close game. If Frye plays I say the Browns have a shot.
Prediction: Steelers, Browns cover again +7 1/2
Sunday
Atlanta at Tampa Bay
Tampa Bay comes off another pretty bad loss while Atlanta finally wins a game. I think Tampa Bay is really reeling right now and I could see them not winning a game the rest of the year. Then again they are facing Atlanta, probably the most inconsistent team of the year but who is still in place to make the playoffs. I think Atlanta comes off the last game a little cocky but I still expect them to beat a pretty bad Tampa Bay team. There so bad that they might bench Gradkowski for the third string guy, I wouldn't be surprised if it happened during this game.
Prediction: Falcons, Falcons -3

Baltimore at Kansas City
A really really good matchup of two teams that desperately could use a win. Both teams are coming off losses and match up poorly against one another. The Ravens defense should be able to contain LJ reasonably well, I don't think that the Chiefs passing attack poses any real threat at this point. However, the Baltimore offense sputtered last week and I could see them struggling again in Kansas City. The Chiefs really need a win and playing at home will give them a slight edge but I am going to go with Baltimore, who let me down last week.
Prediction: B-More, Ravens +3

Indianapolis at Jacksonville
Another tought bizarre matchup. The Colts are coming back after having lost 2 of their last 3, and don't want to lose another game with SD playing as they are. Jacksonville on the other hand excels at home and plays like a team possesed there, and you know that they are looking to knock off the division leaders and get into the playoffs. The X-factor of this game I think could be the presence of Brendon Stokely, whom if the Colts can get involved in the passing attack they will be hard to stop. I also cannot see Peyton Manning letting his team lose in back-to-back weeks.
Prediction: Colts, Colts -2

Minnesota at Detroit
A very boring NFC north matchup of two teams that probably won't make the playoffs and should be looking to next year. You know the Lions are when Mike Williams gets into a game. The Lions offense still has a little bit of potency in it while the Vikings are in turmoil after losing to a Bears team they dominated defensively. No one is really sure what the Vikings are gonna do at the QB position but some people are throwing the rookie from Alabama St. Tavaris Jackson's name out there. He's who I want to see play because we all know why.
Prediction: Lions, Lions -1

New England at Miami
The Pats were tested for all 4 quarters by the Bills and the same should be true of the Dolphins this week as well. I am still a big Dolphins fan, but I cannot see them winning this game. The Dolphins secondary is real weak, with Will Allen being a starter, and while Brady has little talent at his WR positions I think he should be able to pick the Fins apart. There will be no Ronnie Brown and he was really there catalyst in their upset against the Bears so without him I cannot see the Dolphins posing any too great a threat.
Prediction: Pats, Pats -3 1/2

Oakland at Cincinnati
I don't know what to say about the Raiders. Every time I see them I have trouble believing how awful they are. The Bengals will win this game but to be honest I don't see them covering a 12 point spread. It's picks like these that make me go 5-11
Prediction: Bengals, RAIDERS +11 1/2

Philadelphia at Washington
Philly is feeling good about themselves and Washington is reeling but I am gonna go with the upset in this one. I like the matchup of the Washington D against Philadelphia, despite the fact that their D actually sucks. I think its time for Jeff Garcia to play like shit, and about time for Michael Westbrook to go down with an injury but this might just be wishful thinking on my part. It should be a close NFC East battle though with a lot of turnovers and hard hitting.
Prediction: Skins, +1 1/2

Tennesse at Houston
Just a pretty shitty matchup of two teams going no where but watching Vince Young the past two weeks one thought sticks out. He's been real impressive at the end of games and we all know what he did against USC so here's my thought. I don't think he will ever be a great QB but I could see him being one of those guys who no matter what is absolutely fucking money in the 4th and that no matter when your playing the Titans you don't want it to be close going into the 4th. He might just be one of those guys who always finds a way to win, a la Steve Young but worse.
Prediction: Texans, Texans (pick)

N.Y. Giants at Carolina
Bad matchup for the Giants as they play the team that fucked them 23-0 in the postseason last year. However this Carolina team is struggling, and its beginning to look like Chris Weinke will be starting for a hurt Jake Delhomme. The Giants have lost 4 straight but played actually decently last week but made some retarded plays that cost them the game. Eli played like a man last week for the first time in a while and I actually think he'll keep it up this week and the Giants will win and finally take control of their destiny. The Panthers are also beat up and playing on a short week.
Prediction: Giants, Giants No line

Green Bay at San Francisco
Two teams coming off big losses. The Niners got slapped around by Reggie Bush and Mike McKenzie, and just looked off in the loss. Green Bay just got killed by the Jets. The Niners need to go with a more steady dose of Frank Gore and need to prevent themselves from getting down early. Green Bay is a team that is really struggling right now but I expect that the rivalry will get Brett Favre going. I think this could be a low-scoring game to watch, with the Niners pulling out a win. Alex Smith has sort of regressed as the season has gone along, and the niners need to ask him to do a little less. Less down the field passing and more dump offs and short yardage passing, because right now he's having trouble making downfield throws.
Prediction: Niners, Packers +4 1/2

Seattle at Arizona
Arizona is coming off a big win over the Rams and a close game with the Vikes so they should be pumped for this game. Seattle on the other hand is coming off a big win against the Broncos. I expect a lot of Shaun Alexander but I believe Mack Strong is hurt so that will hurt their run game. Instead it will be the Seahawks passing game that finally gets on page and Hasselback should pick the Cards apart. The Cards might put up some points but I cannot see them beating the Hawks in this game.
Prediction: Seahawks, Seattle - 3 1/2

Buffalo at NY Jets
Eric Mangini should really be considered a top candidate for coach of the year for taking a Jets team with not a lot of talent and making them a playoff contender. I think that the Bills might have shot their wad by keeping it close with the Bolts for 4 quarters and might come out asleep for this game. Its supposed to be getting real cold and wintery on the East Coast but it will actually will clear up by weekend so this game could be more high scoring than expected.
Prediction: Jets, Jets -4

Denver at San Diego
San Diego is rolling right now and everyone is calling them the best team in the NFL. I wouldnt go that far yet but they are close. Ladanian Tomlinson keeps on balling and will put up another 2 touchdowns I expect this week. Jay Cutler looked like a rookie, liked we all expected he would, but for the Broncos to make the playoffs he must play smarter than he did last week. There cannot be stupid turnovers like he made last week, and he's going to have to learn quickly. Antonio Gates will be hard to stop but the Broncoes match up well with him with Ian Gold and D.J. Williams. If Jay Cutler was not starting I would be picking the Broncs but with him, the Bolts win and clinch the AFC West
Prediction: Chargers, Broncs +7 1/2

N'awlins at Dallas
This game has all the makings of a shootout but whenever I say this it doesnt happen. I think this could be one of the best games of the year, because both of these teams are playing great football right now. The Saints seemed to have figured out how to use Reggie Bush but the Cowboys now have Romo fever. I think that the Dallas defense gives them the slight advantage as they have the talent to make a couple of big stops against the Saints. The Boys are the team to beat in the NFL right now and I think Bill Parcells is loving it at this point, which is an even scarier thought. It will take a veteran coach to devise a system to keep Romo in check and the Saints don't have that in Sean Payton, their rookie coach, and they aren't great on the road.
Prediction: Dallas, Sains +7

Monday 5:30
Bears at Rams
Whoever pick MNF games should be shot. Really this is not that interesting a matchup but it could end up being a good game. The Rams were dominated by the Cards last week but they should play much better this week. The Bears are winning of Defense and Special Teams like always, and while that works in the regular season it won't in the playoffs. I still like the Bears in this game but if Grossman is in single digits again in QB rating the Rams will win.
Prediction: Bears, Rams +7

Looking for a car?

My dad's cousin is selling his 2005 Subaru WRX STi with 13,000 miles on it.

It is VERY fast....400hp.

Its got a Vishnu Stage 1 kit (basically a computer re-flash) 340 horse, goes 0-60 in 4.5 secs and is basically known for eating a Porsche Turbo.

Its fun.

Also has $10k worth of stereo equipment in it, 400 watt ADS amp, 8" subwoofer 10 Mcintosh speakers, Monster Cable, Alpine head unit and added insulation in the doors and trunk.

He will give you 5% of the sale price if one of you buys it (He is "too busy to spend time meeting randoms in the evening.")

He will be asking around $27,500 for it.

That is him racing on the track.

I will set up a meeting.
